Introducing AbstractionKit V0.2.0

A new release for the most powerful typescript library for building Smart Wallets. Available now.

Today, we are launching the first major upgrade for Abstraction and our API, now equipped with new features for designing Smart Wallets. This version aligns with the latest Account Abstraction upgrades in EntryPoint v0.7. It includes audited, battle-tested Safe Smart Accounts and new Modules not previously available in the latest stable release, providing end users with greater flexibility and ownership control without compromising on the user-experience.

This version introducing minimal breaking changes while ensuring backward compatibility for most essential methods. Here’s what’s included:

Safe Passkeys

A plugin to secure Safe Smart Wallets using Passkeys; are a new approach to wallet authentication that eliminates the need for traditional seed phrases. Safe Passkeys provide a more user-friendly and secure way to access wallets, simplifying the login process while ensuring top-tier cryptographic protection. Account Recovery

Lost the main signer to a wallet? No problem. AbstractionKit v0.02 brings a robust Account Recovery Module. Users can now regain access to their wallets via a secure, social recovery process or other customizable recovery modules. This is a game-changer in reducing friction for wallet users who may lose their keys, without compromising on security.

EntryPoint v0.7 Support and Multi-EP Architecture

AbstractionKit v0.2.0 now supports multiple EntryPoints, including both EP v0.6 and the newly released EP v0.7. The multi-EP architecture allows developers to easily transition to the new version to maintain compatibility with the latest upgrades in the Account Abstraction ecosystem. With EP v0.7 support, the library leverages the latest security patches and performance improvements, ensuring Smart Wallets are up to the current standards.

Safe ERC-4337 Module V3

The new Safe ERC-4337 Module V3 supports EntryPoint v0.7, bringing the account up to the latest standard. Despite these upgrades, the V3 Account Class in the SDK remains almost identical to the previous version, ensuring minimal breaking changes. Developers can transition smoothly while benefiting from the latest Account Abstraction improvements without disrupting their existing integrations.

Gas Sponsorship

The Candide Paymaster class now enables gas payment in ERC-20 tokens or opt for full sponsorship mode, secured by unique built-in policies unmatched by any other provider. AbstractionKit also supports integration with multiple paymaster providers, allowing developers to easily switch between options avoiding vendor lock-in.

What’s next

This marks the first stable release of AbstractionKit v0.2.0, along with the Bundler and Paymaster APIs at EntryPoint v0.7. While this version offers robust functionality, we’re continuously working on expanding capabilities, with more features and modules in development to improve the toolkit for everyone. Allowance Module:

A Allowance system that enables users to set smart spending limits. Whether it's for recurring payments, subscriptions, or one-time transfers, users can define parameters to control their spending.

How to use AbstractionKit

AbstractionKit is fully open-source and agnostic of any Ethereum interface library, or third-party provider. It doesn’t require a single API key to get started. Developers can get started with the library via npm i abstractionkit.
